We have a family pass (two adults and two children) for a leisurely tour on the beautiful Burnett River with fascinating commentary on the history of the river itself and surrounding area. (Bundy Belle 50 years ago used to carry an eclectic mix of passengers plus menagerie of animals across the waters of Moreton Bay.) Today she departs from Grunskes Seafood Market and Restaurant in East Bundaberg.

Wonders of the World Winner!

Among our visitors to see the Turtles this season are winners of our Bundy Book competition.

In the mid year edition we invited our readers to answer three easy questions with the winner wining three night stay at the Point Resort in Bargara. Included in the prize is lunch or dinner at Baltimore Bar and Restaurant at Port Bundaberg with the compliments of Ian and Irene Fleming. The winner has also won a tour on the Bundy Belle on the Burnett River. The prize also includes a tour of the Hinkler Hall of Aviation and a visit to the newly renovated Barrel the home of the famous Bundaberg Ginger Beer. Entries came from many places around Australia including from Bicheno in Tasmania, Pakenham Victoria, Keilor Victoria, and Encounter Bay in South Australia. There were many correct entries and a draw was held.

The winner is Tania Jordan of Wellington Point who picked up her Bundy Book from Café 1928 in the Botanic Gardens. We wish to thank all who entered and congratulations to the winner. We hope she enjoys her second visit to Bundaberg.

Cook’s Endeavour replica is coming to visit. Win tickets to go on board

Encounters 202O is a 14-month program to mark the 250 years since the 1770 voyage of James Cook and the Endeavour crew charting the East Coast of Australia.

From February 2020 the replica Endeavour will undertake a series of voyages to 38 destinations around Australia. Individuals have the opportunity to join the crew of the Endeavour where they will experience life on the sea on an 18th Century vessel. Visitors to the Endeavour at the 26 locations that the ship berths will be able to tour the vessel to gain a clear understanding about the conditions of life on board and view objects that tell a narrative of Indigenous life at the time.
When Cook headed back to England after his East Coast voyage he said’ From what I have seen of the natives of New Holland they may appear to some to be the most wretched people on Earth, but in reality, they are far happier than we Europeans. They live in a Tranquility which is not disturbed by the inequality of Condition: The Earth and the sea of their own accord furnishes them with all things necessary for life…”


We have six family guest invitations ( two adults and two children) to go onboard the Endeavour when it visits Brisbane from Monday 18th May to Tuesday 26th May, and Gladstone from Sunday 31 May to Saturday 6 June 2020. The ship will be at anchor at Town of 1770 on Saturday and Sunday 30 and 31 May.

The Drummers Of Japan Winner

Their live performances are so full of intensity that they make people’s bodies jump and their hearts race faster. Audiences are overwhelmed by the beat of the music, as their bodies are uplifted in sync with the powerful sounds. Trip to Lady Elliot Island winner!

One of our readers will be visiting the Great Barrier Reef in coming months. In the competition in our summertime Bundy Book we asked the readers to count the number of turtles featured in the Bundy Book.

We have two tickets for the winner and partner to visit Lady Elliot Island and spend two nights in a Queen Suite Ocean View room at Kacys on the Bargara Esplanade. A draw was held from all correct entries and the winner is Harry Humphreys of Roma.

Harry is a pupil at Roma State College and he and his family visited Bundaberg over the Christmas holidays. They saw the turtles of Mon Repos and visited Lady Musgrave Island. Harry picked up his Bundy Book at Kelly’s Beach Resort at Bargara. Congratulations to Harry and thanks to all who entered. We had hundreds of entries in this competition from all around Australia.

Fitzroy Island Winner

We have a winner of three nights in a one bedroom Ocean Suite at Fitzroy Island with Return Fast Cat transfers from the mainland.
This prize is for two adults and two children.

This was the competition in the Tourist Queensland/Miners Express publication. A draw was held from all the correct entries….and the winner is Sunshine Wilson of Emerald.
